During June 2001, Project Art Works ran practical creative workshops for a week at
Nine Acre School, which caters for young people who have severe learning disabilities.
We worked with all the classes in the school (up to 50 young people) over 5 days.
The workshops used practical media of painting and drawing supported by photography
-mainly Polaroids for instant and magical documentation. On the last day of workshops we installed an exhibition of the works made during the week and the school invited parents
and governors to look at the work and watch large projections of the video footage taken during the workshops.
The paintings were stretched and hung in the new school premises during September 2001.
